Echinacea is a genus of flowering plants from the daisy (Asteraceae) family. It is native to America and the native Americans use echinacea for treating flu, influenza, sepsis and wounds. There are more than 800 journal publications on the researches of echinacea, and the majority of these reports prove its effectiveness for colds and other infections. Now it is one of the most important and well-known medicinal plants in the world.
Echinacea Purpurea
Some species of Echinacea have been on the endangered species list and over-harvesting for the herbal product trade leads to this concern. Therefore it is the most widely cultivated medicinal plant and it is optimal choice for the commercial use.
